The previous post may have been one step back, but this post is one step forward. The Presbyterian Church (USA)
has voted to amend its constitution and allow openly gay and lesbian people in same-sex relationships to be ministers, deacons, and elders. Two years ago, such a change was voted down, but this year, 19 Presbyteries changed their vote and the change passed, 205 to 56. The Twin Cities Presbytery in Minnesota cast the deciding vote. The Presbyterians now join the Episcopal Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the United Church of Christ in allowing gay clergy. Now, it's time for the Methodists to come around.
